An introduction to our new Home Manager – Rachel Stoneman

With great pleasure we welcome Rachel Stoneman into Blenheim House Care Home as our new Home Manager!

Rachel, above, joins us with an accomplished record of in both delivering clinical care and direct home management.

Having studied nursing at the University of South Wales, with an additional passion for studying Forensics and Biology, she became a  Staff Nurse Wexham Park Hospital.

It was at this time  that Rachel was inspired to join our Majesticare Family whilst having a chance meeting with our Chief Operative Officer, Angela Boxall, and our Financial Director Steven Oakes.

Rachel explains: “I started  working at our Majesticare homes, The Mount and Lashbrook House,  as a nurse in my spare time whilst I worked full time as a Staff Nurse at Wexham Park Hospital. On my first day as a bank nurse Angela and Steve from Head Office visited and I ended up talking to Steve for about 20 minutes about my work and life without realising he was the financial director of Majesticare!”

“After a few shifts, I fell in love with the home and atmosphere and this was when I realised I had a passion for looking after people living with dementia and supporting residents and families with palliative care. After about 6 months I gave up my full time job at Wexham when I was offered the Deputy Manager post at our Majesticare home-The Mount Care Home in Wargrave.”

A perfect blend of Rachels talent, hard work  and professionalism then led her to progress into her first Home Manager role at The Mount having successfully completed her NVQ Level 5 qualification in Leadership for Health and Social Care. Her talent for leadership quickly became apparent as she won the Majesticare Care Home of the Year in 2019- and later expertly guiding her home safely though the pandemic.

We asked Rachel what aspects of working in a care home she loved the most and the enthusiasm was clear to see as Rachel replied;

“I love seeing residents happy, well looked after and cared for- these are my main priorities alongside making sure the home is efficiently run, safe and has a content and  skillful staff  team, confident in delivering the very best care for our residents and their families. When a resident’s condition and life improves after admission to your care home it’s the best feeling!”


Rachel is a keen dog lover who has a Corgi named Bowie, he will be joining our therapy dog Bailey on frequent visits to the home to keep our residents company. Rachel is also an avid runner and is training to complete a marathon!

We rounded up our meeting with Rachel by asking her what Majesticare meant to her;

“Majesticare is honestly the best company I have ever worked for; I feel valued as a person and an employee. When things were really tough last year through the covid 19 pandemic they were right behind me supporting me, along with that they have always celebrated my achievements and believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself.”
