Restrictions Eased at our Care Home
We are pleased to announce that we can start to ease some of the current restrictions allowing our residents to see more of their loved ones, this is due to the success of the COVID 19 vaccine program and falling rates of the Omicron variant of COVID,
Over the next few weeks and months, we will continue to review our procedures to promote safe and less restrictive visiting and update you as changes occur.
Detailed the changes to current guidance below
- Visitors no longer need to complete a lateral flow before their visit, however, please do not visit if you are feeling unwell, have cold, flu or other virus symptoms for at least 5 days
- Visitors are required to complete a visitors questions form on arrival and wash their hands with soap and water before they visit their loved one.
- Visitors are permitted to wear their own masks (Unless they are providing close personal care). Visitors are still required to keep their mask on when in communal areas, the mask can be removed when in their loved one’s bedroom or in one of the designated visiting rooms.
- Visitors who are providing close personal care to a resident should wear appropriate PPE and have a negative LFT. (We will provide the LFT tests to support this. If these visitors attend once or twice a week, they should only test on that day (testing can be completed at home or on site). If they visit more than twice a week, they should test a maximum of twice weekly, 3 to 4 days apart.
- There are no restrictions to the number of visitors residents can have, however we would still request for visitors to book their visits and confirm the number of people visiting, this will help us to have oversight on how many people are in the home at any one time and manage capacity
- There is no longer a requirement to complete an essential care giver risk assessment. All residents are allowed one named person who can remain a constant visitor even during outbreak.
- Residents are no longer required to complete monthly PCR testing
- All staff continue to test using an LFD test twice each week. Should a member of staff test positive for COVID 19, they will isolate at home in line with Government guidance for adult social care staff.
An outbreak is still classed as 2 employees or residents with a positive result, it is therefore very important that we are diligent with our infection prevention measures. We continue to encourage relative and visitor participation with COVID 19 vaccination, including booster and flu vaccinations and we do ask If you are feeling unwell, have been unwell, that you delay your planned visit until fully recovered.
If you have any questions please call us, we look forward to see you in our homes.
